Octopus Week at Seattle Aquarium!

Octopus Week is Coming to the Seattle Aquarium

Alien-looking. Intelligent. Master of camouflage.
Blue blood. Three hearts. Eight arms.
No bones. Eats crab. Toxic saliva.

It’s an animal of mystery and legend. An icon. And one of the coolest creatures in Puget Sound: the giant Pacific octopus. Celebrate President’s Day weekend and mid-winter break with this very special local celebrity.

Join STAR 101.5 on a mission of discovery as we explore the mystery and lifestyle of this amazing undersea animal with daily octopus feedings and talks, plus hands-on activities. In addition, the following action-packed activities are always highlights of Octopus Week:

  • Live octopus release on Saturday, 2/17 at noon. Watch live video feed as our biologists escort Webster, one of our octopuses, to a new home in Puget Sound, just below the Aquarium’s pier. The following Saturday, 2/24 at noon, Yoda—another octopus—will be released.
  • Divers swim with an octopus on 2/19 and 2/25 at noon in the Window on Washington Waters exhibit. Get a one-of-a-kind view of an octopus and learn amazing facts about this iconic Puget Sound animal.

Listen to STAR 101.5's Battle of the Sexes in the Kent & Alan Morning Show for your chance to win 4 passes to the Seattle Aquarium and experience this event!
